This policy explains what Moctoe Wine Company, LLC (“Moctoe Wine Co.,” “we,” “us”) collects when you visit moctoewineco.com, join our list, buy wine, or come to one of our events, and what we do with it. We keep it short because we keep very little.
What we collect
- When you join the list: your first name and email address.
- When you buy: your name, email, phone, billing and shipping address, date of birth (to confirm you are 21 or older), and what you ordered. Card payments are handled by our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.
- When you come to an event: how many are coming and, if you give them, your guests’ names.
- When you use the site: basic information your browser sends, such as pages viewed and whether you opened or clicked our emails. This comes from cookies and similar tools used by our email and store providers.
- When you write to us: whatever you choose to include.
How we use it
- To send you the emails you asked for: release news, first access, and event invitations.
- To take, ship and deliver your order, and to confirm your age as the law requires.
- To run our events and pickups.
- To keep the records alcohol laws require us to keep.
- To understand what is working on the site and in our emails, so we send less of what isn’t.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing. We share only what each of these services needs to do its job for us:
- Klaviyo (our email service)
- Commerce7 (our store, checkout and customer records) and its payment processor
- Vinoshipper and shipping carriers (licensed shipping and delivery to states where we are not licensed directly)
- WP Engine (hosts this website)
- Shopify (our merchandise store, if you buy merch)
- Government agencies, when the law requires it
Your choices
- Email: every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and it works right away. We’ll still send receipts and shipping notices for orders you place.
- Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser. The site still works; we just learn less.
- Your information: email hello@moctoewineco.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. We’ll keep only what the law requires us to keep (for example, records of alcohol sales).
21 and over
Our wine and events are for people 21 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 21, and we delete it if we find out we have.
How long we keep it
As long as you’re on our list or have an account with us, plus whatever period the law requires for sales records.
Keeping it safe
We use established providers with their own security, limit who on our side can see your information, and never ask for card details by email.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. Big changes, we’ll tell you by email.
